Taillight conversion 700

I have a 760 ge 88 and i have those taillights that have the crome trim passing in the middle.I was wondering if there is a way to change those lights and put the lights from a 1990 740(the one block with no chrome or line in the middle).Are the connectors the same or will i have to check each cable to see wich light it lights up?thanks
