put your a/c diagnosis hats on ... 700 1986

The a/c was converted to r134a a couple years ago. It blows very cold, and gets cold quickly. So, it works and I have nothing to complain about. except ...

As soon as I turn on the a/c, if the car is at idle (in P/N or any gear), it will loose approximately 150-200 rpm and the engine will start to shake. It also makes a gentle groaning sound intermittently, which is not audible except at idle.

It has behaved this way more or less since I obtained the car in 1999. It groaned and lost rpm before the conversion to 134. The a/c blows cold, and works great otherwise, but I've found myself turning it off at stoplights. Not a serious problem, I know, but I thought I'd ask if anyone had experienced something similar.

And yes, my throttle body is clean.
