engine turns but no fire 700 1990

My 1990 740 turbo wagon has 120k miles. It died suddenly one morning half a mile away from my house. After about sitting for about 30 minutes it started up and ran for about another 2 miles then died again. So I waited and started it up again and it ran long enough to get me to work. Now it wont start. The car is sitting in the garage where I work.

I pulled one of the spark plug wires and used an old plug and grounded it and started the car but I did not see any spark from the plug. So I replaced the rotor, distributor cap, spark plug wire and the high tension wire but still no spark. The starter cranks and the rotor is turning but does not fire. Help!!
