My sick 240 1981 200

Last year I made the unfortuneate decission to have the dealership fix my volvo. It seemed to be a fuel pump problem. I was very busy so I decided to spend the big bucks at the dealer because of time constraints. Big mistake. I told them to look at my prepump and inspect it as well as decide whether a new main pump was needed. They charged me 700$ for their flaky job, the Volvo dealership parts department did not even have the fuel pump. That should of been my first clue that they dont work on old cars. When I left their place the fuel pump buzzed crazily. I was told that that was normal at the dealership. What a bunch of idiots. Well recently the car started to die after about 45 minutes of driving. Then it got worse and now will not start. I thought it was my prepump. So I fixed that, but in fixing it I now realize that noone has looked in their for 10 years at least and the sock was not on the prepump. So now I realize that the dealership lied when they daid they looked at the prepump. My thinking is that my prepump in tank pump has been dead for a year or so which caused the car to cause the main pump to buzz then it died, the main pump, then I went to the horrible bungler dealership, then they put a new main pump but did not fix the broken prepump. Then I drove for a year with the main pump buzzing causing a strain to be put on the main pump which caused it to die in one year. Does that seem reasonable. I tried to flood the car and then took out a spark plug and it seemed dry. Would I have noticed a lot of gas or a wet look? I cleaned all the fuses and connectors that I could find, I looked at the feul pump relay and resoldered it. At first I didnt think it was the main pump, but now I do. The car turns over easy, and it catches once in a while for a second. I even went under the car and looked at the wiring harness where I did find two bare wires which I taped up and put new plastic coils around. That didnt help. I know I wrote alot, what are your thoughts or is anybody going to read this?
