More turbo questions 200 1984

Hi guys,

1) My 1984 242 turbo does not have an "intercooler" badge on the trunk lid, yet has an intercooler, so I am assuming that this was added by the previous owner. I've read that output of factory intercooled cars is slightly higher than that of non-factory intercooled cars. How much of a difference are we talking? What makes for the difference?

2) I'd like to increase the "boost." How much can can I dial in before she starts pinging? What kind of a horsepower gain should I expect for each 1psi increase over stock boost? And what is stock boost, about 7.5-8psi?
