Commerical engine flush? 200 1983

I'm with "the Frog King" - just switch to synthetic (not blend) maybe do one quick (2000mi?) oil and filter change, then whatever intervals you feel OK with. I bought a friend's 240 with 260k miles which had been well maintained, but never had synthetic. I'm a believer in Mobil 1, changed oil using it, and there's no evidence of unusual crud in the oil, everything looks great.

Just for info, Consumer Reports did a long term test on a fleet of NY taxicabs, and could see no difference in engine wear with synthetic compared to petroleum-based oil! They used a 6000mi change interval.
