white markings on accessory controls fading

JF,

I found that the various interior "treatments" (Armor-all, etc.) are as bad or worse than windex/cinch/etc when it comes to taking off the white markings. Like P-Phil, I've gone to using water as the cleaner of choice on most of the switches.
