Huge Difference in Power 200

Hi,

I have no idea why I haven't jointed this wonderful site until now.

Yesterday afternoon I took out the whole thermostat unit in the air cleaner box (of course the thermostat was dead as expected, not sure for how long) and plugged the preheat tube entrance. As soon as the engine started to breathe in cold air from behind the grill, a significant power gain was noticed throughout the whole range. Unbelievable!! Engine overheating at low speed or stop is now history. I hope this also means that the MAF sensor is still functioning.

Finally I can experience the real power of my brick (182 kmi 86' 240 DL Auto Sedan) and begin to pass cars with much less effort. Prior to this, the car has "Splitfire" spark plugs, "Magnecor" wires, "K&N" air filter, new distributor cap & rotor, kickdown cable and ATF flush, and has been running quite strong already.

So, check it out on yours.

JJ
