Rough idle and engine knock 900 1993

1993 940 wagon w/OD no turbo
When I start the engine, it idles very rough even after its fully warmed up. When I accelerate, its sluggish until I get to about 10 mph and there is a loud knocking coming from the engine. This all just suddenly happened while I was driving today. I checked the oil and coolant and they're both full. I checked each cylinder to make sure each one was working by running the engine while I briefly remove each ignition wire one at a time. That rules out spark plugs, ignition wires and fuel injectors since there was a change in idle for each ignition wire I pulled. Can anyone help ?
