stuipid car :) 200 1986

Ok, this car has more new parts that some aging hollywood women.

new or replaced:

-wiring harness (engine)
-AMM
-O2 sensor
-ECU
-fuel filter

compression tested to 160 psi/cylinder

I was unable to test fuel line pressure, since there is no valve on the volvo fuel rail. (I have the tester that wants a shraeder valve, if any of you have any tips I'm all ears)

Anyway, the car still is being stubborn. When you start it, it dies the first couple tries. And shifting into 1st or reverse is a real chore, and you have to hold the gas down a lot to keep it running, otherwise it dies.. or kicks like a mule, resisting your efforts to get the car moving.

The main fuel pump is quiet. It sounds fine.. I listened in the gas door, and didn't hear the in-tank pump.

Does this sound like a faulty in-tank pump??

I have been picking at this car for a year now, and I'm hoping it will throw me a bone sooner or later :)
