random electronic failures. 700 1988

I just aquired a 740 turbo four door sedan. I have been trying to work out a number of issues that the car has. One though has me stumped. The car will, while driving down the road lose a number of electrical systems. For example, today, it lost power windows, ac fan, speedo and turn signals. Basically all the power goodies inside the car, even the radio. I checked the relevant fuses and they were fine. We shut the engine off and started it back up to find everyting worked fine. This has happened on a couple of occasions. It's making me think the car was made by microsoft. "Ooops, time to reboot!" My thoughts are that the k-relay might be going bananas on me. Any other ideas before I go replacing expensive electrical bits? Thanks in advance.
