M46 + J type OD slow to engage when hot, simple fix? 700 1985

1985 764Ti + M46

Looks like my OD is starting to go south. When cold, I get nice solid engagements. When warm, it often "flows" into 5th, slowly engaging. Once its in, i'm never 100% sure it is, because the transition was so slow. Every now and again, after that very situation, I hit the gas and it obiously slips (engine revs, little accel). Give it 5 secs at coast, and all good.

I've heard this may be a replacement of the pistons and seals. Possibly just the solenoid?

Thanks all!

-Elliott
