Temperature gauge doesnt work 200 1988

I thought I would give everyone a heads up on my experience with the Temperature gauge. The temp gauge in my car has been inconsistent. Sometimes it is at 3/4, sometimes it doesnt even read.

I checked out the previous posts on this problem so I removed the instrument cluster and began to give it an inspection. There was no signs of corrosion and wiring was in perfect condition. However, since the car has 208,000 miles now all the attaching nuts and screws on the panel were loose. Each one could be tightened with minimal torgue about 1/8th to 1/4 turn.

I reinstalled the panel and the temp gauge now registers at 1/2 in the temp range. It is rock steady and has shown no signs of the previous problem.
