Headliner and Sunroof 700 1986

Good question. Hell, if you could do it in any quantity you could sell it on the board for $300+ and make some funds (to be redirected into said brick ;)

However, unless you have some know how and gear it would be hell for a couple of reasons:

1) The material used has to be both light (to avoid coming down under its own weight) and sturdy (due to the fact that there are expanses only tentatively held in place by the pieces own structural strength).

2) The piece is molded to specific dimensions, and the curved section (thinking wagon here) that leads to the back might be particularly annoying to duplicate.

I guess the real question is this: without a machined press to mold the stuff what would you material would you use to make it? A thin sheet of aluminum might be PERFECT, but it would be damned expensive unless you are a metalworker with experience and tools... actually any metal might be dangerous in an accident since the roof could turn into some type of horrible guillotine (I'm thinking of that scene in The Omen where the plate glass slides off the truck...).

Have to think about this... sounds like an interesting project. Thanks for the idea, I've been running out of ways to procrastinate lately. ;)
