Directional Signal 200 1991

Hope someone out here has the answer for this one. I just had the voltage regulator replaced and notice that sometimes (not always) when I engage the directional signal arm, there is a rather loud buzzing noise from behind the dash. The signal won't work immediately, but after a few second of buzzing, the signal works and the buzz stops. This doesn't happen all the time, most times it works just fine.

Could this be related in any way to the new voltage regulator?

Jay
