740 Engine oil problem 700

clem, It's probably your cleaning the connectors that did the trick. I had a similar problem before right after an oil change.I think I "disturbed" the oil sending switch connector.Just be sure it's not disintegrating.Since yours is an '89 I don't think you'll have wiring harness problem.Hope this help.
