I confirmed that our engine coolant temperature display failure is indeed due to a failed sensor (left side of head, under intake #2) and got myself down to the dealer for a replacement.

All '94 engine choices on the fiche show the same part. It has the same connector as the metal and plastic one in the car now, but is all plastic and looks like it plugs into the block, instead of threading in. Is this an upgraded part, or do I have odd engine? The car is a Halifax-built '94 945, base with sunroof, and the engine is a B230 with the distributor mounted at the front. It might be "Regina" engine, whatever that is.

If this is an upgraded part, how do you install it?
