Power loss 700 1991

I own a 1991 740 Wagon, with the 2.3 litre engine. It uses the
Regina fuel control unit.

I have been experiencing power loss at both road and highway speed.
It feels like I run out of gas, the rpm's come down and there is
no throttle response. After a few seconds later, the engine re-starts
by itself with out using the starter.

I have changed the fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter and
I have swapted the aux. relay with the Radio noice relay.
I am still having trouble with loosing power. It happens
at no specific times and at different speeds as mentioned before.
Can any one shed some light on this matter? Thanks in advance.
