Manual 4 spd tranny noise ? 200 1980

Last 5,000 miles my '80 4 spd manual (no OD) has been developing a progressively worse rattle between 50 and 65 MPH. Only occurs in 4th and when in a constant (unloaded) cruise. If I accelerate or slow down, start up a hill, or release the clutch, the noise goes away immediately. No noise below 50. Worse (louder) on longer drives.

Checked trans fluid color & quantity. Release spring OK. Changed front & mid U-joints. Rear end seems normal.

Any thoughts ?
