Hey there! I am currently involved in a B230 -> B230FT conversion myself, and let me say that it is possible, but quite involved. The following is a quick list of the basic components you will need to replace (there may be others as well):
B230FT Engine
injectors
Intake manifold
piping between intake and intercooler
intercooler
piping between intercooler and turbo
turbo
Oil cooler
Oil cooler steel/rubber hoses and adapter
Water pump pulley
B230FT Engine Wiring Harness (1990), LH 2.4
Misc wiring harness tidbits for convsersion to LH2.4
LH 2.4 turbo ECU
piping between turbo and AMM
AMM
EZK
Resistor pack
AW71 Transmission and TC
turbo head pipe
airbox
Fan shroud
Idle Air Motor
Misc. saddles and brackets (i.e. intercooler/rad)
Misc small parts (i.e. bracket to hold Idle Air Motor)
Radiator hoses (should use new ones)
Vacuum lines (should use new ones)
heater valve (should use new ones)
heater hoses (should use new ones)
motor mounts (should use new ones)
...At least that is what I am changing out!
There are other differences too, like rear axle differential ratio, ABS, possibly drive shaft depending on if you have a wagon or a sedan, etc... I also have a Regina fuel system on my NA, so some of the items above are due to the need to switch the car from Regina to Bosch components.
Oh well, keep in mind I am also quite a newbie to all this, so I may even be understating or overstating the conversion. Whatever you decide, best of luck to you! Nothing beats the character and fun of a fast brick:)
