What is it with Volvo motor mounts anyway? 200

Is it just me, or are they designed to wear out after approx. 50k miles?

I've purchased aftermarket mounts thru RPR, FCP Groton, etc. and also what were supposedly "OEM" mounts at the dealer ("bend over please..."), and didn't detect any appreciable difference in quality/longevity among them. I've installed them myself using the procedure outlined in the FAQ and in Haynes. I've also had 'em done at an indy. volvo shop (using my parts). No difference there either. So I'm farily certain that I'm not bungling them during replacement and thus shortening life.

Do turbo mounts from a 740/940T "bolt up," and would they last any longer? Car is an '85 245, normally aspirated B230F.
