brake caliper switch or ?????? 700 1991

Hello again! Recently I replaced warped rotors on 1991 740 w/ABS.Car currently has non-girling( my 88 740 abs wgn has girling)and the brake pads have a short springy wire each that hold them in place thru the caliper-this sucks,I think when installing that I squeezed springy wire too much.anyway I had a lot of noise from pad movement,so when I finally pulled wheel-I BROKE wire trying to retension. CAN I BUY replacement wire or any ideas appreciated. I've done brakes many times on many volvos and I'm frustrated to the point where I FEEL LIKE SWITCHING OVER TO GIRLINGS ON FRONT> CAN I DO THIS WITHOUT A PROBLEM? this ever happen to anyone else????? mark and sorry for long post .TIA
