Broken A/C Compressor Wire 700 1989

89 740T: While investigating A/C compressor problems, found that the green (power) lead to the compressor is broken. There's a small (<1" square), encapsulated piece (capacitor or something??) on a bracket attached to one of the compressor mounts. The wire runs through this part into the compressor and is broken off clean where it enters this part. I see no way to reconnect through this piece - can it be bypassed, or is there a repair kit?? Thanks.
