no spark at the plugs 240 86 200

I have no high tension at the plugs on my 240 equipped with electronic ignition.
There is power at the two connections of the coil on the low tension circuit(s) and when I crank the engine there is power at the yellow and green wires (reads much below 12 volts) coming from the electronic control unit to the base of the distributor.(I presume this has to do with the timing advance)

The timing belt is ok as the camshaft turns when the engine is cranking. the distibutor cap and rotor have benn changed recently.

How can I tell if the high tension current is getting to the distributor without risking a shock.

How can I test the coil? The car has not run for a good three weeks but the battery is charged.

Any help is appreciated.
