740 Dashboard and Key Question 700 1988

Hi,

We've just purchased a used Volvo 740 GL 2.0 with 140,000 miles on it.

There are two things we can't figure out:

1) We have three keys, but although they look EXACTLY the same, only one of them will work the boot!

2) What are those funny little dials on the dashboard that you can "twiddle" but don't do anything? They're based on the edge of the spedometer display, one on either side and seem to be almost pointless!

Otherwise, it seems this is a great car. We're very happy with our new 740.
