Differential plug with stripped bolt 700 1989

I stripped the bolt head of the plug for the differntial)the one used to check level). I cannot remove the bolt althjough I have a replacement from deal($12.00). I have tried heating area of bolt with a heat gun and cooling bolt. However, the plug is really stuck. Waht else can I try. I have tried vice grips but this only messed bolt up further.
