Check engine light & gas cap 200 1991

Hi all,

Recently my check engine light came on and after investigating I found that the gas cap was not fully secured. I had driven the car about 100 miles before the check engine light came on. Could I have damaged anything during that time? I put the gas cap on tight and unhooked the neg. battery cable ... it reset the light but 25 miles later the light came on again. I have not noticed any vacuum pressure when I take off the cap. But I don't know if it did it before anyway. Is the fuel system ventilated or should I notice a definite suction when I take off the cap? - TIA. Also, has anybody had any luck with the "Perma-cap" offered by IPD?
