Changing Front Springs 200

Hey,

I have a set of Eibach springs I want to put on my '92 240.

Trouble is I'm not sure how to do this. With most strut work, you just compress spring, disassemble strut, do work, reassemble strut, and uncompress spring.

But when replacing spring you have to switch compressor from one spring to another--that is, uncompress the original spring, get the compressor off, compress the new spring, which is completely unloaded, and then install it.

Is there enough range of travel in spring compressors to back the compressor off enought to fully uncompress the first spring, and then compress an unloaded spring small enough to install the now compressed spring in the strut? Or is there some other way?

Any help appreciated--thanks guys

Dave S
