Quick Fix for 'running rich' -- WHY DOES THIS WORK??? 700 1992

To me it seems like the fuse that you removed was the power fuse to the computer. By removing it you made the computer loose all of it's memory and go back to the factory memory. This car has an addaptive memory and will make some minor adjustments. You have a problem somewhere. DO NOT DISCONNECT THE FUSE UNTILL YOU CHECK IT FOR CODES.Even though you do not have a check engine light on you have a problem. I have had several cars running rich with no codes and it turned out to be a defective computer. It sounds like you have enough knowledge to get yourself into trouble with this one. Have a good teck. that is good with Volvo's to have a look at it after you have driven it a while or untill it starts to use alot of gas again
