chirping sound when moving slow/braking 900 1993

Thanks to those with the advice about my in-line filter. It's working great! Now I've got another problem.

Whenever I'm either braking or moving at a slow speed, I hear an intermittent chirping sound, much like a cricket, coming from (I think) the engine compartment. It's possibly coming from one of the wheels, though. Since it only happens some of the time when moving slow and not only when I'm braking, I'm thinking it's just something vibrating when the engine hits a certain RPM. But of course it's hard to diagnose, since it never happens when stopped.

Has anyone else encountered a similar noise?

many thanks,

ben
