Leaky overdrive? Where is this fluid coming from? 700

I swapped the m-46 transmission and OD in my '86 740T last year. When I've gone under the car since then I notice a coating of ATF on the bottom of the transmission. The only place I've seen fluid is from the tailshaft. I figured I'd just not park on an uphill since when the car is rolling the fluid is up in the gears and pumping around, not leaking out the back. When I swapped this unit in I don't recall a seal at the tailshaft, just a nut and washer. Any hints on where common leak points are?
