Boge Struts (I think, they may just be Monroe) 200

Bought new strut inserts (Boge Pro Gas). 1 made in Germany, went on like a champ, no problems. 2nd made in Mexico, slight cosmetic differences, threads were not ready to accept the nut. Didn't know this until we were reassembling. Had to remove the strut and cut new threads. I am worried that the overall quality will follow suit. Does anybody have any experience with these? Should have just spend the $$$$ on the Bilsteins.
