Car Inspection... 200 1988

... on my daughter's 88 245 DL/AW70, which doesnt happen often enough. Had it up on the lift and several things need attention:

- The clamp that secures and routes the trans cooling lines under the motor is chafing away the walls of the tubing. There is about to be pinhole leaks, if not already. Area is wet from ATF but the rear seal/bushing is leaking too, which I will repair. Is best tubing repair a splice with rubber hose and clamps? Are new trans cooling lines even available?

- Exhaust header pipe makes an audible leaking noise under the heat shielding. Second time this has happened; replaced the factory pipe with another several years ago. Seems like this part should last say 20 years or more, not six or seven. Anyone else experienced this? Likely I will seek out an aftermarket part this time since the factory piece doesnt hold up that well anyway.

Thanks,
Robert
