Fuel delivery problem, helllllp 200 1982

I was hearing a noise that sounded like the main fuel pump, so I replaced it, then replaced the large fuel filter as well. Something in the fuel system is still making noise or causing problems, sounds like a slight growl still coming from the pump or accumulator. I opened the in tank pump and listened as closely as possible and felt the vibrations through the lines and it still feels and sounds like it's coming from the main pump/accumulator area.

My question is, I have a fuel pressure check valve to put on, but can't figure out where to put it. Does it go on the accumulator? I want to try this before I do anything else, like replace the accumulater.

thanks everyone
