My Volvo Starts When It Wants To... 200 1987

My 240D Volvo sedan started acting funny on Thursday (today is Sunday). It wouldn't start after being parked for a few minutes at Whole Foods. It had been hot that afternoon and so I just assumed Vapor Lock (I don't know much about Volvos). It started 5 minutes later. Yesterday, It wouldn't start at the bank - (at noon) I sat 15 minutes in the heat and then it Started. This morning at 9AM I drove to a friend's to go to breakfast, and it Wouldn't Start again. I walked to long leisurely breakfast, and upon returning, Still Wouldn't Start. Any ideas on where to start looking? Am sifting throught the Intermitent Starting posts...I run it on Chervron with Techron, do all the usual stuff (change oil regularly, keep eye on fluids) - it cranks, it just doesn't engage...nezbah i live at 7000'...
