poor idle when the engine is semi-warm 200 1982

Have a problem with the fuel injection (K-jet without Constant Idle System). When the engine is cold, it starts and idles as it should (1200-1300rpm)for a couple of minutes. The auxiliary air valve does function. The problem starts a couple minutes after a cold start up. The idle goes to 600-700rpm for a few minutes and then, when the engine is fully warmed up, it idles like a champ at 900rpm.
If I let the car sit for a little while after it has been driven- enough for it to cool down a little- the idle is slow and rough on start up. The 'warm up idle' is worse in warm weather but always goes away. Any suggestions? I'm thinking control pressure regulator. All the basic maintenance has been followed. I have not checked line pressure or the flow of the injectors.

thanks for any help...
