1995 960 Rear Headrest Removal. 900

There can be 2 problems with adjusting tether straps in the 740 /940's with rear headrests.

1 - for some seats the minimum length of the strap is too long
(this has nothing to do with the headrest)

2 - the adjusting buckle ends up under the headrest

For 1 there is no easy solution (4ry seat in car befor you buy if possible)

For 2 I have found that it is possible to slip the strap and buckle between the top of the seatback and headrest. Pre-adjust the strap, thread between seatback / headrest, then connect to anchor (the least step requires some extra force to compress the seatback).

I havedone this with both single and duel teather straps.

Whatever you do, don't:

- knot the strap,
- leave it slack,
- route it over or around the headrest.

Paul
