Fuel gauge seems to read wrong 700

posted by  someone claiming to be 745T/I on  Mon Jun 3 04:39 CST 2002 [RELATED]

Maybe this is normal, but when I fill up right when the fuel gauge hits the top of the red area, I can only get 45-46 litres in my car. The car is supposed to hold 65 litres. So is my gauge off a little, or can I just drive a lot further into the red? I also get about 425 kms on using 45 litres or so.
