Engine Cutting Out 900 1997

My 940 2.3 LPT has a problem with the engine cutting out every time the engine revs drop to tickover,the only light that comes on is the exhaust emmision light.The car will immediatly restart and drive perfectly. Its been running perfectly until its last minor service which included a new tailpipe and change the air filter. Any ideas??
