is it OK to unplug O2 sensor and run?? 700

We have been dealing with a rough idle problem on our 87 760 Turbo. Many repairs have been performed: cleaned/adjusted injectors, repl turbo intake hose, replace plugs, wires, rotor and cap. verified flue pumps pressure and delivery. cleaned throttle linkage adn houseing, verified no air leaks at intake manifold. Nothing has helped the rough idle here RPMs drop out from 800 to 500 and then go back up again. MPG and accelleration is normal.

So we unplugged the O2 sensor and waa la. idles smooth and perfect at 800. plug O2 sensor in again, and idle frops out.

So we baught and installed another O2 sensor. NO HELP! unplug new sensor and smooth idle @ 800 RPM. plug new sensor inagain and idle gyrates between 500 and 800 . WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF WE UNPLUGGED O2 SENSOR AND DROVE AWAY???

COULD IT BE A FAULTY NEW O2 SENSOR?

IS THERE A WAY TO TESTS IDLE CONTROL VALVE?

WHERE IS IDLE CONTROL VALVE?

Thanks for any comments or inputs.
