turbo blades rubbing? 200 1984

When I don't wait for the car to warm up a bit, I sometimes hear a sound which sounds like something rubbing, and which varies according to the rpm. of the engine. I goes away in a couple of minutes. I wonder if the turbo blades are touching the casing. I have checked for bearing play by feeling for wiggle but it doesn't seen to be excessive. Any ideas? Thanks.
