Backyard mechanics in the MD-DC-VA area? 200 1984

I have had no luck with mechanics in the area and cannot do some of the work myself (two people would be much easier, especially with Volvo knowledge.) I need to replace the front wheel bearings and am not sure enough to do it myself. Is there a club or group of Volvo owners in the area that could help? I don't mind paying for work, but I already have the parts and so many people won't put in parts that "aren't theirs". Any info appreciated.
