740 turbo electrical problems 700 1987

I'm new to this list, so please bear with me!
I've aquired a 1987 740 turbo and it has many electrical problems. I'd like to get a wiring diagram for this car. Any help out there? The previous owner took it to a Volvo dealership and they cut and diced the wiring harness without solving the problem, which is: the car won't start unless the #2 fuse is pulled, it intermitently refuses to start or stalls while running and the headlights/tail lights don't work. Dashboard gauges don't work either.

I've been through the archives on this list and it sounds like this is a common problem. Help would be greatly appreciated!
