Amsoil Advice Needed

I am pleasantly surprised to observe that the local Murray's Auto Parts" (chain) stocks Amsoil car oil. They do not stock the Amsoil filters, although they can special order them. Currently we are using Mobil 1 10-30 in all three cars. None use any measurable oil. We have been using Volvo filters in all, but I am impressed with The Mobil 1 filter, as seen by the results in my son's Ford Ranger. The Mobil 1 oil stays a lot cleaner looking when he uses a Mobil 1 filter, compared to when he uses a Motorcraft filter. We are planning on the great Amsoil switchover in all 4 vehicles. Any specific preferred weights? Chicago Illinois environment. Can be up to 105 in the summer, 25 below in the winter, but these are the extremes.

1997 960, 60K (Mobil 1 really helped increase fuel economy on this one)
2001 Ford Ranger 4X4, 4.0, 12K

Any advice will be appreciated.
