90 740 wagon - hatch stuck shut!!!!

I have a 90 740 and this happened to me as well. All that I could come up with is that the seal gets stuck around the body of the vehicle. I finally just pulled evenly and smoothly with ALL THE STRENGTH THAT I COULD...and it slowly came unstuck. I used silicone spray on a rag and applied to seal to try and keep it from happening again.

It is difficult to be sure the hatch is UNLOCKED first, then pull hard, don't jerk it.
