OK -- great advice.

Is this something that would slowly go out of adjustment over, say, a three or four year span? Over this time period (which also corresponds to perhaps 50k-60k miles) the shift point into OD gradually crept up and it shifts hard. I've fiddled with the kickdown cable (shortened the sheath) but it has no significant effect.

Is the adjustment procedure outlined in the book? Any special tools or instruments required?
