Engine won't turn off 120-130 1968

Pete,

The ignition should be perfectly standard, although the wiring loom is from a 140 (I swapped it because the PO had mucked around the original one so much it was unrecognisable).
The car has started and stopped perfectly well until yesterday. It is not dieseling (it stops when I pull the main HT lead), so it must be getting power from somewhere. Hence my thoughts about something strange in the alternator when the ignition light didn't come on. Does that make any sense?

Sounds like todays job is to peer at the wiring diag and see if something can get crossed somewhere.

If all else fails I can pull another alternator from a parts 240 and see if that works.

Regards

John
