V6 Engine Identification.. 200

Hi from NZ.
I am currently looking at using a Volvo V6 (PRV) in my Peugeot 505 wagon. Never having looked under the bonnet of a V6 Volvo before, is it easy to spot the engine variant ? (eg 27F etc) One car I enquired about had it's vehicle ID plates removed (ready for disposal) - are there distinguishing features to identify which engine it has ?

Also, what in year/model did the V6 get electronic injection instead of the K-Jetronic ? (760 onwards ? )
