volvo north amer. does not stand behind manufactured auto trans. 200

LAST april 2001 I bought a remanufactured transmission aw71 from the dealer. on the 11th month point I started experiencing problems in 2nd and occasiaonlly 3rd gear. I immediately contacted volvo of north america to preserve my warranty. and put things in writing. by email.

yesterday (roughly 14 months after purchse) my tranny finally slipped big time and refuse to even go into reverse, or drive. when cold it would move but only for 4-5 miles and lose power again permanently. as if in nuetral. I calle volco north america and they are giving me a hard time. what can i do? does anyone have experience in this matters? I paid almost $1500 for a premium product which died years before its expected lifespan. any help how to deal with these people is appreciated.
