Horsepower ratings-net vs. SAE?

From what I have heard SAE is gross and BHP or DIN is net horsepower. Net is the horsepower figures after the losses incurred from the various accessories on the engine (A/C, Alternator, etc.) SAE is before that loss. I think the difference is only a few percent between the two. So 115 HP SAE might be about 105 net or so. Of course a couple hundred thousand miles can take a bit off of that number also.
